MDTools provides a collection of free, browser-based document conversion tools including Markdown to Word, Markdown to PDF, Word to Markdown, Markdown to HTML, HTML to Markdown, Markdown Table to Excel, and Excel to Markdown converters. All conversion processing occurs locally in your web browser — no document content is transmitted to or stored on our servers.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time without notice. We will not be liable to you or any third party for any such modification, suspension, or discontinuation.

3. Use of Service

You agree to use MDTools only for lawful purposes and in a manner consistent with all applicable laws and regulations. You agree not to:

  • Use the service to convert, process, or distribute illegal content
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract our source code through automated means
  • Use automated scripts, bots, or scrapers to make excessive requests to our servers
  • Attempt to circumvent any security measures or access controls
  • Use the service in any way that could damage, disable, or impair it

4. Intellectual Property

The MDTools website design, branding, and original content are owned by MDTools and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. The open-source JavaScript libraries used by our tools (marked.js, docx.js, jsPDF, Mammoth.js, Turndown, SheetJS) are owned by their respective authors and governed by their own licences.

Documents you create, upload, or convert using MDTools remain your property. We claim no intellectual property rights over your content.

5. Disclaimer of Warranties

MDTools is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to:

  • Warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose
  • Warranties that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or virus-free
  • Warranties regarding the accuracy or completeness of conversion output
  • Warranties that the service will meet your specific requirements

Document conversion is an inherently imperfect process. Complex formatting, embedded objects, custom styles, and proprietary features may not convert perfectly. You are responsible for reviewing and verifying all conversion output before use.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, MDTools and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from:

  • Your use or inability to use the service
  • Any errors or inaccuracies in conversion output
  • Unauthorised access to or alteration of your data
  • Statements or conduct of any third party on the service

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the service shall not exceed USD $10.
