Comma-separated values files are also accepted. The CSV is parsed and converted to a Markdown table with the same clean formatting as Excel files.

Is my Excel file uploaded to a server?
No. Your file is read directly in the browser using the FileReader API and processed entirely locally by JavaScript. No data ever leaves your device. This makes the converter safe for sensitive business data.
Which sheet is converted if the Excel file has multiple sheets?
The first sheet in the workbook is used for conversion. If you need a different sheet, move it to the first position in Excel before uploading, or copy that sheet's data to a new file.
What happens to empty cells in Excel?
Empty cells are represented as empty strings in the Markdown table, producing a cell with no content between the pipe separators. Completely empty rows are filtered out of the output.
